AJC® started as me. It's a firm today.
I started AJC® because I refused to accept that having a family meant giving up a meaningful career.
Twenty years later, this belief is still the foundation for everything I build.
My engineering role at Intel, coupled with my MIT Sloan education, showed me how great companies grow when capable people have time, structure, and authority to focus on important work.
It also showed me that maintaining a corporate pace would rob me of a full family life.
So the question became: how do I continue to deliver meaningful work while being present for my family?
That's when I realized midmarket companies rarely have project managers driving their growth work. Instead, they have smart people, overloaded calendars, and 37 strategic priorities that owners think will be done "this year."
That kind of reality gap helps no one. Neither do pretty PowerPoints and b-school buzzwords from over-billed, road-warrior consultants delivered to execs who live in ivory towers.
AJC® started as me. It's a firm today.
At first, it was just me, doing fractional project leadership work on the side while raising my kids. Then I found other experienced, educated moms who had stepped out of full-time corporate roles and wanted exactly what I wanted: meaningful, brain-engaging work on a schedule that let them still be the one their kids came home to.
AJC Team
During the pandemic, we saw this need wasn't just regional. It was everywhere. So we scaled, brought on team members nationwide, and built AJC® into a firm that could serve manufacturers, distributors, and technical service companies across the country.
Here's the win-win nobody else in project execution has fully connected: most fractional CxOs and strategic consultants are people (often men) winding down from full C-suite careers toward retirement. They're strong on strategy and self-promotion. But women often step back around child two or three, right when they're operationally at their best. They're rarely the ones chasing new business or personal visibility. They're the ones who make everything run. Humble. Behind-the-scenes. Intrinsically driven to do the work well, not to be seen doing it.
There are very few high-paying opportunities that let that kind of talent use their brains at half-time. AJC® is one of them. Companies get senior execution talent they couldn't otherwise access part-time. Our team gets to stay in their careers without outsourcing their kids' childhoods to someone else.
Executagility® is how we make that consistent.
It's our proprietary methodology for running project execution the way EOS® runs the business: clear priorities, clear ownership, clear cadence. It's what lets a firm, not just one person, deliver senior-level results reliably. It's also the platform we're building to train and license fractional project leaders the way EOS Worldwide trains Implementers.
AJC® was founded to be different:
No crazy billables pushing all waking hours of the day
No never-see-your-family weekly business trips from Sunday to Thursday without end
No fluffy PowerPoints that deliver zero ROI
No insanely long project lists all with the same urgent deadline of "yesterday"
No complaints about overspending on consultants who delivered zero value
AJC® helps manufacturers, distributors, and technical service businesses finish the projects they cannot afford to get wrong:
Customers finish best-for-them ERP selection and implementation projects without drama
Important projects are structured so teams are clear about what's expected of them and actually deliver results
A 21-project backlog drops to 12 items in 90 days
A VP of Ops is incredulous that his implementation had "no real problems" when peers complain about theirs
Our customers' customers regain confidence because delivery is finally on time, with a reliable order-to-fulfillment process
Our team built their expertise in major corporations and now chooses to apply it in flexible, fractional roles through AJC®. Our clients get senior execution talent for the hours they actually need, without hiring a full-time PMO or paying for billable hours that are overkill for the project at hand.
People should not have to choose between meaningful work and a meaningful life. Companies should not have to choose between muddling through and overspending on giant consulting firms.
Choose your consulting team differently. Choose AJC® to run the projects so you can run the business.
